Joe Glynn British Judo petition

About Joe

In his 70+ years of Judo he has coached and trained thousands of people in the Tees Valley area.

He has held many roles including Club Coach, Area Coach and assistant Great Britain Coach

Joe is now 92.
His health is failing.

Those requesting that British Judo Association Ltd grant Joe an honorary 6th Dan grade were told it would have to wait until February 2024.
But when reapplying were then told it wouldn’t be happening in February.

Joe reflects all the good things about British Judo.

He has dedicated his life to practising judo and passing on his skills to generations of younger judoka.

He is exactly the type of person who deserves recognition by the awarding of his 6th Dan.

One of Joe’s more public recognitions:

2020
BBC’s Regional

Unsung Sporting Hero Award

Will be added as they are collected.

Joe Glynn has contributed to the British Judo Association and his dedication to the advancement of judo at club level has been enormous over some 70 years.
I would highly recommend his promotion to 6th Dan.

I would like to support Joe glyns application for promotion to 6th Dan.
As being involved in judo for 58 years competing and coaching club area and national and international level I came across Joe Glyn many times as he was totally dedicated to the kids he coached and was probably the most travelled volunteer coach in Britain his enthusiasm and passion was unbelievable but as he used to say by I am in this for life.
This just about sums Joe Glynn up having spoken to many coaches they feel the same and at Joe's age this would be a good way of saying thanks for the many champions and the many kids he kept out of trouble by his wonderful way of mentioning them into judo.

When hearing about the delay in granting Joe his well deserved 6th Dan.
