British Minors Judo Championships 2022

Pot updated: October 25, 2022

The previous shameful record for a BJA area of 17 days to publish competition results, in 2022, has now been matched by the BJA Southern Area!

When you add the facts that this was a National Judo Championship, the 3 year’s absence due to covid, there was no entry list made available beforehand and the organiser were unable to arrange enough mats for the planned  2 competition areas and only had one in use on the single competition day?

This is hopefully a record that will NOT be broken, ever!

19 October 2022 – RESULTS NOW PUBLIC.

The scan of the handwritten result sheet containing a total of 88 Minor judo competitors has after 18 days, finally been made public!

Result sheet author, Andy Grand, BJA Southern area member of the area’s “Specialist Committee”:

The BJA AGM that allegedly sent out the obligatory notice, ballot sheets and documents, by post during the postal strike.
If this doesn’t reach anybody entitled to vote at the AGM, they will be considered to be an “accidental omission” and as long as the AGM is attended by 4% or more of those entitled to vote, approx 20, all voting at the AGM will be valid and binding.

Players & Parents

Without a BJA coach registry, you might get a false impression from social media, the press & websites about who is qualified and licensed to coach judo.

Very similar case as in 2019, when Comberton Judo club falsely claimed their “head coach” was BJA licensed for almost 18 months after he had been suspended by the British Judo Association.

Like Comberton Judo Club at the time, Kendal Judo Club has been receiving Government funding via the BJA for running the DiSE programme.  (Diploma in Sporting Excellence)  A programme for children & youth!

There is only 1 Tatami in use at the

But despite this and the required use of CARE (video refereeing), the organisers don’t seem to
have been able to connect the camera with a YouTube feed!
