GBJC Updates
Author: SBE
See the exclusive GBJC Blog exposing the connections between the flawed BJA club finder, NEST management, DiSE government funding and the two BJA management persons responsible for awarding the “Dojo-2” contract and Camberley Judo club!
Multiple problems with online grading, missing club members and unknown club members has been reported across social media.
The BJA Dojo-1, including online grading, was shut down 5 months and 19 days ago, 24 june 2022, and the roll out of Dojo-2 has been delayed ever since.
The BJA CEO, Andrew Scoular, briefed the BJA Board of Directors the day before, 23 june 2022, about the intended roll-out.
The conclusion of the Dojo-2 roll out is scheduled for February/March 2023.
(See BJA AGM 2022 Annual report, BJA CEO statement, if public.)
Some Dojo-2 functions have been rolled out, some only particialy such as the BJA club finder that still lacks email and website details for the majority of the BJA clubs currently listed.
Main updates since 24 june 2022:
Dojo-2 can now be downloaded as a mobile app,
The BJA’s website requires “development”, (BJA Tender process completed, contractor not announced)
What functions are working that the Dojo-2 & NEST MyMA Apps are supposed to provide coaches, clubs, members and parents isn’t clear. See tender specifications.
NEST Management has since being awarded the contract been given the VIP treatment by BJA management and state they are “PREFERRED & TRUSTED” by British Judo on their website.
NEST Management have been invited and treated at several events.

The main function of a CRM App for an organisation such as the BJA is covered in the general definition of a CRM:
“Customer Relation Management (CRM) is technology for managing all your organisation’s relationships and interactions with members and potential members.”
“The goal is simple: Improve business/membership relationships.”
Specific to the BJA it should be limiting the workload for grassroot BJA judo clubs & coaches that they undertake in their spare time and for free, thereby enabling them to do what judo coaches do best and what builds the foundation for increasing membership and improving elite performance!
Coach Judo!
Dissatisfaction within the GB judo community has been growing steadily with every BJA “update” containing corporate speak of “minor/slight delays” and an unwillingness by BJA management to understand the “user experience” of their “Digital Transformation” has so far been a fiasco!
You can join the GBJC FaceBook group and discuss issues within British judo that are censored and supresssed in other groups, such as GB Judo Underground (the JUG), BJA Southern Area, BJC Judo, etc.

Where does the Buck stop?
A tendering process for companies to “pitch for the contract” was announced, 15th December 2021:
INVITATION TO TENDER – DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP SERVICES
From the BJA’s tendering process:
The responses to this Tender to be received by 5.00 p.m. on 12 January 2022 by email to: Colin McIver, Sport Director colin.mciver@britishjudo.org.uk
Colin McIvor has since left his employment with the bJA.
Assessment of Tender
Upon receipt, the BJA Chief Executive [Andrew Scoular] and the Sport Director will consider all submissions received on or before the deadline and carry out an initial review to confirm completeness and compliance with the requirements of the ITT and may, at their discretion reject a Tender which is incomplete and/or non-compliant. The final selection will be made by the BJA’s Audit & Risk Committee.
The BJA Audit & Risk Committee consists of:
In effect, with Colin McIvor no longer employed by the BJA, the BJA CEO, Andrew Scoular, would be the person to have brought the Dojo-2 contract bids to the BJA Audit and risk committee for the decision who to contract.
It is believed, but not confirmed, that BJA CEO, Andrew Scoular, and Sajid Hussain, BJA Finance and Operations Director, are both members of the BJA SLT (Senior Leadership Team) and now an unknown BJA “Executive Team” that since Ronnie Saez became BJA Chair, 2017, have been entitled to remuneration payments.
These payments have totalled over £2 million pounds since 2017.
