The BJA AGM has happened and the BJA have still not published the AGM papers, as required.

The minutes and results of the BJA AGMs are for some odd reason usually only made available 11 months later when the next AGM is announced and some get the AGM documents.

TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY!

Essential for

Good Governance!

Anti-Corruption!

Development!

No matter the outcome of the AGM voting.

BJA Clubs, Coaches and Members CANNOT vote on who becomes the BJA Chair or the BJA Chair’s reelection!

IMPORTANT!

You will notice that you are NOT allowed to vote on individual amendments but you are required to either vote YES to all or NO to all!

NOT common practise considering how many there are (18) nor the scope of the amendments being proposed by BJA management.

From changing “Chairman” to “Chair” to major governance changes that will affect British Judo for many years to come!

If you vote yes, or don’t vote, and thereby the ALL the amendments are approved.

You will also be approving/accepting, among other things:

The BJA Chair, Ronnie Saez, can remain in his position for an additional 4 years until 2029!

Without BJA clubs having a say or vote in this!

The possibility of a BJA Director, upon end of term, to become BJA Chair without BJA clubs voting on this.

This statement was removed from the BJA website, December 2021 along with previous board meeting minutes being altered.

See ALL 18 amendment proposals in the BJA AGM documents!

Besides the BJA Chair’s proven track record of “misconduct” in handling organisational funding (see issues of concern) he is also on record for blatantly censoring social media by removing critical comments and replacing them with positive ones!

NOTE:

It is NOT for BJA clubs to present counter proposals to any amendment at AGM!

It is the duty and responsibility of the BJA Chair, CEO & Board to accommodate the wishes of the BJA clubs, not vice versa!

If you can NOT support just ONE amendment change, you will be required to reject them all by voting NO and await the BJA Board’s response in accordance with the existing BJA Ltd company MEMORANDUM AND ARTICLES!

BJA Directors & BJA “Leaders Remuneration payments:

BJA Director, Claire Lish, stated in 2021:

Despite also claiming she is a member of the “BJA Remuneration Committee” [commission] that has approved over £2 million pounds in remuneration payments since 2017!

FACT:
During the financial period, 2020 – 2021, when BJA England membership fell by 60%, BJA remuneration payments to BJA Directors & BJA “Leaders” rose by 6% to over £455,000.

ISSUES OF CONCERN FOR SOME!

The BJA Chair, Ronnie Saez:

The process for approving candidates for BJA board positions, including Chair, the person nominated has to be approved by the “BJA nominations commission” – click to see the current members on this commission.

How BJA Cair, Ronnie Saez, was approved when he originally became acting BJA Chair is unknown, along with how he was re-elected in 2021 and why his re-election wasn’t mentioned in the AGM documents 2021 or made public to BJA clubs, coaches and members.
Beyond the BJA Board Meeting minutes, June 2021, that have since been edited many months after the minutes had been approved, the BJA website’s “About the BJA” page was altered.

Up until December 2021, this page stated:
“The member clubs directly elect the Chairman and seven Directors.”

AGM details published, to date:

BJA:
If your club is entitled to vote at the AGM, ensure you are supplied with the documents, ballot sheet and information about voting by proxy.
Several recent BJA votes have been flawed by not all those entitled to vote receiving information and documents prior!

The BJA AGM ballot sheets and documents are, according to the BJA, supposed to be arriving with the voting entitled persons for this years AGM 12 & 13 October!

Before the BJA AGM 2021, the BJA initially used postal delivery but due to the BJA data base being out of date, many club’s officials didn’t receive the letter!  Later the BJA sent the information via email but there ere also issues with these communicating with the voting entitled persons.

This year, the BJA has uniquely posted on their website about the postal strikes but failed to mention anything about the AGM papers being affected by this.

If you are entitled to vote, the only way to ensure you receive the ballot papers is by contacting the BJA executive assistant, Justine lynch.

Justine Lynch, Executive Officer 0121 728 6920,

Should the BJA have sent documents using their club finder app, you can check your club’s address & telephone number though no email addresses has been added since 24 June 2022.
